Genetech Employees Say ‘No’ to Pharmaceutical Takeover
It appears that Roche’s offer of $44 billion to take over Genetech is unlikely to go ahead.
The reason?
Many employees of Genetech have let it be known via Blogs that they will immediately put out their resumes if the deal goes ahead. They have made it clear that they have no intention of working for Big Pharma.
“I am a researcher with DNA and will put out my resume the second the deal goes through with Roche”. “Many of us here do not want to work for Big Pharma” Thus posted ‘Dan’ in the Wall Street Journal Health Blog.
“People will leave. This is not a threat but reality.” That from an anonymous employee.
Genetech is now busy trying to put together deals to buy the loyalty of their employees.
