Out of Sight, Out of Mind

Mental Disability Rights International have exposed yet another ghastly psychiatry nightmare, this time in Serbia.

So called patients were found shackled to beds surrounded and immersed in squalor and filth.

The sub-human conditions, make that sub-animal conditions, include a complete lack of treatment for physical conditions such as cerebral palsy underlying the ‘mental’ conditions. A man with Downs Syndrome was found to have been strapped to a steel bed for eleven years.

Patients are dying from starvation and general neglect. They are warehoused dozens to a room with nothing, absolutely nothing to do other than contemplate their own appalling condition.

It is high time that the United Nations exercised their responsibilities under the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights and conducted a full scale, world wide investigation into the psychiatric industry.
