Problems of diagnosis
Tendency towards schizoprenia,is diagnosed are not always very precise.Ideas and forms of behaviour which are quite common in ordinary people can be included as evidence of a tendecy to schizoprinia.Everyone sometimes has thoughts or moods which are not normal. It is quite possible for psychiatrist to diagnose wrongly.
The belief that schizoprenia is inherited is one side of the nature nurture debate.Psychiatrist failed to recognise the very real stresses which schizophrenics were often under and which in many cases, made thier disorder make sense .The need to investigate further between a person physiology and their experience. As a starting point they should suggest that phychiatrist consider placing more emphasis on humanism in thier work.To include humanistic values such as individual liberty self responsibility. What is the point study so many theories Psychological explanations if they don’t put it in to practice. We all know explanations for bulling behaviour that bullies have a strong need for power and dominance.
In Psychiatric,as in any field there are competent and incompetent psychiatrist and those who are truly excellent.American psychatric association diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorder are not always correct. Its is essentail they continually learning and open to new ideas. Only if they are well grounded psychological can they work with other people to mobilise their feelings.
